My birthday is tomorrow and I have
some mixed feelings about birthdays in general. What I love about them:
spending time with friends and family, going out to dinner at fun places,
seeing people's faces when you open their gift. What I don't like: holy cow a
lot of money is spent (dinners, outfits, gifts, etc.), I hate when people celebrate
me and there is attention on me, and finally I hate people singing to me.
I love celebrating other people's
birthdays, because what can be better than going out and having a good giggle
with friends or family? I love shopping for people and getting them a
gift. And I absolutely love embarrassing someone at a restaurant and watching
their face turn all red when we sing and everyone looks!
At the end of the day celebrating a birthday
is fun and I do love it. But there are times when I just bite my lip and pray
my face isn't red from embarrassment!
I have had many fun parties that my
parents have put hard work and money into throughout the years. I have had
a spa party, a bouncy castle come to my house, multiple pool parties, I had a
party bus for a party, I went to cup n come for a party (yummy ice cream
place!), and many sleep overs!
For my 16th birthday I took a group of
girls to Buca di Beppo and I also had family over. I had a foreign exchange
student staying with me at this time and our birthdays were only one day apart.
So we celebrated her birthday too! She got many gifts from my family and
friends which made her feel very special. From Buca I remember that it
was so fun and there being A LOT of food. I also remember when we got out of
the car and played Chinese fire drill with my mom. I think my friends were in
shock that we were actually doing this.. My family also came over and we
celebrated with food and cake! Always so special to have them over to celebrate
a special day.
For my 18th birthday I went out a
couple of times with my close high school friends. We went out and played bingo
for the first time because I was FINALLY legal. We went around to all these places
to get free food: Caribou, Dunn Brothers, Culvers, Snuffys, and we went to
multiple locations of each.. Man did we live it up! Ha!

Then my amazing parents got a
hotel for my friends and I in Duluth! What a trip, spent with the best people.
We showed up to a hotel that looked so creepy. We all looked at each other and
I wanted to cry, so the first thing I did? Called my mom and was upset with her
for booking a hotel that looked like a motel that strippers went to. Yes I said
it. My amazing mom said to just find another hotel and cancel that one! I was
so happy she was so willing to move us. My mom is truly the best! She is
sometimes a push over too. But my sister and I love her, and my friends love
her too! Anyway we got the hotel and just bummed around Duluth. Went to dinner
and shopped. We took so many pictures and had such great memories. We shared
the best laughs and I will never forget this trip.

P.S. we said we were going to
make a trip happen every year! Eventually when we have enough money we want to
go somewhere more expensive... But for now, this year, we are thinking camping.
Ha ha ha. Can't wait to see this one happen :)
