That 15 Miler Selfie

I’m backkk – well for a day :)

Life has been crazy busy. You can assume that life is ‘crazy busy’ anytime I get away from my blog for more than a week.

I have pretty much moved into my apartment, which is about 30 minutes from my house and approximately 2.3 miles from Lulu Lemon. Catherine and I went the other day, and lets just say if I do not figure out self control while going in that store, I am going to be in deep trouble, I bought too much and Catherine bought $18 undies. No shame. Anyway, I am absolutely LOVING living on my own. I love, love, love having only what I want in the house. I mean I do not have to deal with my parents grocery shopping, my dads jelly bean obsession, not having room in the fridge for my healthy food, etc.

My parents are pretty chill people. When I need help with groceries or rent they are very understanding. They were like this when I lived at home too. If I wanted to grocery shop my mom did not think twice before giving me her visa. I appreciated that a lot! It was helpful when trying to eat healthy. But of course there were still foods in the fridge that were making me unhappy, binge, feel bad about eating it, etc.

Now when I go grocery shopping I look for the cheapest possible thing. I try my hardest to still get organic, natural, whole foods, but it is hard on a budget. I was at Target today and was thinking my total would be under $50 for the week, uh no, $96.52. Bummer. This is something I need to work on, how to get in almost 1900 calories a day while eating expensive foods.

But what else is helping me stay on track is IIFYM (if it fits your macros). I will make a post about this sometime soon, my thoughts on it, pros, cons, etc. But for now if you want more information click HERE. http://iifym.com

For now I will leave you with a lovely selfie from my 15 MILE run yesterday. I was so proud when I finished, because this is my longest run EVER. I was able to run it with Catherine and Katie, although we are all different paces we still got to meet up along the course. The best part was we finished 15 miles and had to walk back a mile. Today the legs are not moving much.

Half #2 - COMPLETE!

As I was running my half marathon yesterday I debated writing a long post. For my first half I went into detail here and here.

I was not sure if I should say much about my race, because it was fun and we (Catherine and I) did great, but 13.1 miles in my head is not as big of deal as it was in March.

FOR ME. Which makes me really sad. I wish I thought it was a big deal but once I signed up for my full, 13.1 miles seems like a breeze in the park.

And most of it was a breeze in the park. In fact there was not any part of the race where I felt like I was going to die, there were no parts where I wanted to vomit, there were no sore legs and I think I was smiling for most of it too.

That is something that made me feel proud. Maybe I am a runner? I can feel this good and happy while running a race, I must be doing something right.

Then I woke up today and was SORE, my back and legs are killing me. I feel like a 70 year old lady. Not cool.

But what I think made this race so fun was running with Catherine the wholeeeee time. And side note: she PR’d by like 9 minutes or something like that! WOHHHOO. Anyway, we were able to laugh about people together, run through random peoples sprinkles together, cheer each other on, etc. And I loved that. It was one of the first races where we started and finished together! I do not know if we will run the marathon together, but if we do I have confidence that we will have fun while running it.

Next race is in TWENTY days – Women Rock Half Marathon, hoping for a PR or less than 2:20 but I will take a finish because running in August heat is no joke!

Weekends At The Cabin + Race Week

This week is race week for half marathon number two! Lots on my agenda this week with getting ready for school to begin, preparing for my race, starting my run club for some special kiddos and so much more. It is going to be a busy one!

This past weekend I went to a family friends cabin and ate like crap, but the awesome thing about living a healthy lifestyle is everyday is a new day. Eating foods that make my tummy hurt (but are oh so delicious) for two days is not going to ruin my life! I am ready to start back up today and prepare for my half.

It is funny, I am looking at these half marathons as nothing. But they are actually a huge deal, running 13.1 miles, that is a big deal; however, the only thing on my mind is the full marathon, 26.2 miles. Ekkk it makes me so nervous.

Oh and another thing that is on my mind is that everyone is engaged or having babies on Facebook. Great for them but it is also so scary. In my opinion.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend at the cabin:

Sometimes I think I am really good at wake surfing.

Then I eat shit.

Then I watch boys do it and really feel bad. I just tell myself I am better at other things ;)

Make it a great week!
