A Running Vision

Bria, my sister, is planning to run her first half marathon in August of 2015. I am ‘gifting’ it to her and I will help her train. A family friend from years ago contacted me yesterday about fitness/healthy foods. We got talking and I told her about this half marathon – within 24 hours she and her two sisters signed up!!!!! AMAZING! I told Bria we cannot back out now

Then two other people contacted me yesterday and today. So I began to have a vision – a vision of a running group for this area. People of all ages, all stages in their fitness life, people who have 50 pounds to lose and people who are looking to maintain weight. We would be there to motivate each other and run a race together. Not just a 5K but a fricken half marathon – side note: Twin Cities Marathon training schedule lines up very well with this

SO – if this is something that would interest you let me know. PLEASE!!!! I plan to make a training schedule and we would meet 2-3 times a week for runs (for sure once a weekend, early like 6:00 or 7:00 am and twice during the week). It would be a come when you want or when available. If you can’t make it that’s okay because this group will always be here for you.

I will for sure post more details as I think harder about this but I wanted to share because I am so excited! Literally my heart is so filled with joy right now. What is better than running with a group of people who motivate you to be the best you possible – FOR FREE!?!?!

The half marathon is the Gopher to Badger Half. Check out the website here - IT IS CHEAP PEOPLE!!!! I ran it in 2014 – read about that here.

Unplanned & Under Prepared

The title seems a little crazy. No I am definitely not preggos. Ha ha ha. But I could not think of a title for this post :)

I love busy. Being busy usually keeps me on track, because I have a plan or a schedule and I stick to it.

This weekend I was so busy and not on track one bit. Since the new year I have been doing fabulous. Hit my workouts daily, my eating has been wonderful and live has been eventful. But this weekend events started happening and I just could not be prepared.

My baby cousin Mika was born Saturday. I spent some time at her house this weekend meeting her! What a beautiful little baby.

Then Saturday was also Catherine's 21st birthday. Because I am not 21 I was the DD. On the bright side I saved money and calories consumed in alcohol beverages but I ate ALL.THE.FOOD. Literally everything in my sight Friday night-Sunday I have eaten. Her birthday was really fun (we went to dinner first at Chino Latino).

This week I hope to get back on track  I hate when a weekend screws up all my progress! But I am only moving forward from here. I'm human - definitely not perfect - I screw up sometimes more than I wish. And that is OK!

Make it a great week!

Partner In Crime

My sister, Bria, has wanted to get fit for a while now. She uses the word “skinny” but I do not believe in that word. So I am saying “you mean FIT Bria, FIT!”

Yesterday she was complaining about eating a scoop
of peanut butter to get her fats up! I told her so many
fitness freaks would be jealous of her. Who complains about
eating peanut butter straight from the jar? Measured of course.

She is in two weddings in 2015 – wowza! Bria was always active in HS, a size 2 and wore a small on top. As she has gotten older she has gained some weight and is ready to lose it!

Recently I told her about IIFYM and for Christmas I gifted her professional macros from Paige. Why not give a gift that keeps on giving? :) We got started Monday and she is doing really well. I came home from the gym and she had this meal waiting. She measured everything out and it seriously made me smile so much!

I am spending time at home with her while my parents are in Hawaii and it is so nice to be around people who are doing something similar to me. She gets why I am having eggs at 9:00 PM or why I am saving special room for my dinner out. Today she said to me, “I am going to The Cheesecake Factory tomorrow, will you help me pick out how I can get something to fit into my macros?” Bless her heart!

It has been fun to show her how it is done. She is catching on very quickly!

I also took a picture of her when she was running on the treadmill – I told her she will want this in 6 months when she has muscles popping and is running races.

(PS – she OK’d this post to be shared :) )
