Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Peeps!

I am excited for a new week and a new month (Tomorrow). This weekend was crazy to say the least.

Friday I went to the Lulu Lemon sale. What a nightmare. But I got some cool items. If you want to check out what I got click HERE.

Saturday Catherine came home! My heart dances when I get to workout with her. We get each other and that’s what I love. I think everyone of our conversations is the same, talking about our struggles, our wants, our goals. But I LOVE it. She is the only one who has really experienced what I have. Anyway, we did the stairs. We met this super awesome lady, Brooke, she’s in the army and it was her second time. She was so amazed that we do 20 sets. Her and I are meeting up Friday at 7:00 am and I am going to be a creeper and tell her to add us on FB. I mean who doesn’t want or need more healthy people in there life? I think she is a few years older than us but that is ok.

The rest of Saturday I babysat from 9:30 AM to 1:00 AM.

Sunday I woke up to go to church and babysit again. Gotta make money somehow! Then I did homework All. Day. Long. SO FUN. Said no one ever.

Here we are – it is Monday – I got up at 7:00 (no boot camp today) and got stuff accomplished. I bought new running shoes, went to TJ's, stopped at GNC, buzzed through Target, went to Macy's and Victoria Secret and ended at Costco. This all happened before 11 - rock star status.

Lets not forget this baby. I am somewhat embarrassed by this because I have been a heck of a lot lower. But I am not going to sugar coat things. This is my weight as of yesterday and I can only look forward. I am excited to see what I can do with my body and MIND before summer!

Lulu Lemon Virgin No More

I have always been obsessed with Lulu Lemon. Only problem is I have never actually owned any Lulu Lemon.

If you workout (or if you don’t) and are not obsessed with workout clothes you need to teach me a little lesson. I LOVE workout clothes. I have too many. I could probably go a month without washing my clothes and still have enough, that is a problem. BUT I just cannot help myself, it is So. Darn. Cute.

So if you live in MN or the Midwest you have probably heard a little about the Lulu Lemon Warehouse Sale 2014. It was at the Minneapolis Convention Center today- Sunday. Basically they pick a different location every year, bring 17 semi trucks full of shit, mark the prices down about 33% and hope all these crazy workout freaks will come buy it.

I was sold.

My cousin Callie, my Mom and I all took on the crowds at 8:00 am. We were told no jackets, if you had one you’d have to pay money to check it and also you wouldn’t have to wait outside. Wrong.

The Lulu people were not expecting so many people. But us Minnesotans are freaks and want a good deal.

So we waited outside for probably 1.5 hours, got inside and waited for another 1.5 hours, got inside the sale and shopped for 30 minutes, waited in dressing room line for 30 minutes, waited in check out line for 15 minutes, lost our car for thirty minutes, then finally drove home.

We left at 8:05 got home about 2:15.

The amount of people was insane. I was trying to shop for myself and three other people. It became impossible. Also sizes are so funky! Some things I was a 6 some things I was an 8 and one item I was a 10.

If I didn’t have two bags full of shit I probably would have been a lot crabbier. But I sucked it up because I knew my mom was the only one who had the right to be crabby. After all, she was the driver, line/ spot saver, holder of clothes, and plastic aka money provider.

So here is what I got:

It looks like a lot, which yes it is; however, it was a good deal.

Would I do it again? No. Was it fun? Yes. Was it a good experience? Yes. But it is a one and done thing. Too many lines. Too many people.

W.O.W. {#20}

Summer is coming, which means shorts, swimsuits and BBQ’s.

I couldn’t be more excited. I love a good family gathering that involves a lake, a good game of volleyball and fresh grilled chicken.

Another thing I love about summer is being active outside but having it feel fun vs. like a workout. For example, running in 70 degree weather, rollerblading, biking, swimming.

Sunday I drove to Stillwater to do the stairs. On my way there I just looked at the road (mind you in was 10 degrees) and I thought ‘maybe they will be clear by Wednesday and I can go blading?!’. My heart skipped a beat just thinking about putting my rollerblades on.

I want to feel confident this summer when I wear shorts or swimsuit bottoms. Which means one thing LEGSSSS.

The start of the stairs

The top… There is a middle too

So today we will work legs. I did 15 sets of the Stillwater stairs. 157 steps X’s 15 = 2355. PLUS going down. I was tired. Then I came home and I did ths:

Killer leg workout:
10 burpess
100 squats
90 walking lunges OR 45 left leg lunges, 45 right leg lunges
80 mountain climbers
70 sumo squats
60 calf raises
50 weight leg kicks – 25 each side (on all fours, place weight behind knee of one leg, the kick that leg back into the air – works legs and butt)
40 curtsey lunges
30 bench steps
20 squat jumps
10 burpees

Suggested to do 2-3 Xs. I did it once. It took me over 20 minutes!

Here are the calories I burnt on Sunday when I worked legs…. Oh and by the way it is Wednesday and my legs are still feeling it. That  can only mean one thing, the muscles are GROWING BABY!

Calorie burn from doing the Stillwater Stairs

Calorie burn from doing the above workout ONCE

Calorie burn from cycling for 30 minutes

Because this is my TWENTIETH WorkOutWednesday I thought I would share some of my favorites!
Obviously Week #1 – cardio burst, arms, core… Some cute pics too
Week #2 was ABS – I like the movements that I chose this week, they weren’t too complicated but you can sure feel them!
#4 – stretching. I am so bad at stretching, actually we could just say I am bad at being patient, which goes along with stretching. Take a peek if you need some good stretching tips!
Week #7 I switched it up and wrote about what I wear when I workout. It’s important to feel confident in your outfit at them gym! Also, if you have a pair of pants that don’t stay up that can screw up your whole run.
For week #9 I did a workout from one of my favorite bloggers, SkinnyMeg. It’s legs and baby you’ll feel it!!
In January I realized I missed the whole month of December for W.O.W. I had some personal things going on. But when I came back I was ready to work it!
I decided to try sprints, just threw something together. For week #14 I did sprints for the first time and loved it. I also have some hefty goals written on the whiteboard! Most of them haven’t happened ha!!  It is funny that  I have fallen in love with sprints now! I usually do 10 speed and pray to God that I don’t fall off.
Week #15 was a little of everything; running, legs, arms. I burned over 700 calories in 1 hour!
Right before my first half I posted all my music! So if you are in need of some new workout tunes be sure to check out W.O.W. #18

Those are some of my favorites!

Eggs + Avocado = Heaven In My Mouth

I have been dying to try this recipe and I FINALLY did today! So yummy, so easy.

Baked Eggs in Avocado: serves 4
2 ripe avocados
4 eggs
1/8 t pepper
1 T chives
preheat oven to 425. Slice avocados in half and take out pit. Scoop about 2 T from middle of avocado so egg has room. Tightly put avocados in pan. Crack egg into each. Bake 15-20 min. season with pepper

{I only made 2 servings/omitted the chives and it was still delicious! I also baked for 17 minutes and it was PERFECT}

No judging on my egg cracking skills. Obviously it's hard with one hand. I will get it down eventually!!

I am pretty sure I could make this in my sleep. I will probably have dreams tonight about how amazing it was so I will most likely be making it again soon :)

See you tomorrow to work LEGS for W.O.W. #20!
