Birthday Part One

My birthday is tomorrow and I have some mixed feelings about birthdays in general. What I love about them: spending time with friends and family, going out to dinner at fun places, seeing people's faces when you open their gift. What I don't like: holy cow a lot of money is spent (dinners, outfits, gifts, etc.), I hate when people celebrate me and there is attention on me, and finally I hate people singing to me.

I love celebrating other people's birthdays, because what can be better than going out and having a good giggle with friends or family?  I love shopping for people and getting them a gift. And I absolutely love embarrassing someone at a restaurant and watching their face turn all red when we sing and everyone looks!

At the end of the day celebrating a birthday is fun and I do love it. But there are times when I just bite my lip and pray my face isn't red from embarrassment!

I have had many fun parties that my parents have put hard work and money into throughout the years. I have had a spa party, a bouncy castle come to my house, multiple pool parties, I had a party bus for a party, I went to cup n come for a party (yummy ice cream place!), and many sleep overs!

For my 16th birthday I took a group of girls to Buca di Beppo and I also had family over. I had a foreign exchange student staying with me at this time and our birthdays were only one day apart. So we celebrated her birthday too! She got many gifts from my family and friends which made her feel very special.  From Buca I remember that it was so fun and there being A LOT of food. I also remember when we got out of the car and played Chinese fire drill with my mom. I think my friends were in shock that we were actually doing this.. My family also came over and we celebrated with food and cake! Always so special to have them over to celebrate a special day.

For my 18th birthday I went out a couple of times with my close high school friends. We went out and played bingo for the first time because I was FINALLY legal. We went around to all these places to get free food: Caribou, Dunn Brothers, Culvers, Snuffys, and we went to multiple locations of each.. Man did we live it up! Ha!

Then my amazing parents got a hotel for my friends and I in Duluth! What a trip, spent with the best people. We showed up to a hotel that looked so creepy. We all looked at each other and I wanted to cry, so the first thing I did? Called my mom and was upset with her for booking a hotel that looked like a motel that strippers went to. Yes I said it. My amazing mom said to just find another hotel and cancel that one! I was so happy she was so willing to move us. My mom is truly the best! She is sometimes a push over too. But my sister and I love her, and my friends love her too! Anyway we got the hotel and just bummed around Duluth. Went to dinner and shopped. We took so many pictures and had such great memories. We shared the best laughs and I will never forget this trip.

P.S. we said we were going to make a trip happen every year! Eventually when we have enough money we want to go somewhere more expensive... But for now, this year, we are thinking camping. Ha ha ha. Can't wait to see this one happen :)

Graduation Day

So I posted about my cousin, Callie's graduation party a couple of days ago. Which made me think about the day I graduated from High School....

Kindergarten Graduation
Graduating from high school feels like the biggest accomplishment I have had in my life, so far that is. I remember the day pretty well.

It was June 9th, 2012 and I went to another friend’s grad party in the morning. Then I went to my friend Courtney's house, where we got ready together and then took 560271 pictures. Her mom is obsessed with pictures! But hey we may seem annoyed while she is taking them but deep down I am thankful for it because we are catching some great memories.

After pictures we road to Graduation with our other good friends Catherine, Katie and Ashley. We took many more pictures!

It was time to assemble into the arena and walking in I got chills. I started to tear up. Why? I have no flipping idea! I was sort of embarrassed but at the same time I was like who cares!!

The ceremony was long and boring. Which is sad because my graduating class wasn't even that big! (I think around 295-305?) But when my name was announced my aunt Lisa was on stage and she handed me my diploma (Lisa is a kindergarten teacher in the district). It was surprising to me that she was there to hand me my diploma because we thought she wouldn't be able to and then bam there she was. I was so excited!! We got our picture taken by the professional photographer. Then we tried to look for my mom so she could snap a Picture.

We then went to the all night party down the road. It was another fun time to hang out with friends all night long. We had some great food and shared many laughs! PICTURE

Such an emotional time in my life that was filled with so many exciting emotions!

Lazy Days

Today was one of those “I’m going to do nothing days”. Yep, all day long. I haven’t been productive at all. Well I did manage to babysit for a couple hours, run, rollerblade and blog. But I was pretty lazy on my computer, pinterest, facebook, twitter, online shopping, blogging, etc.

I have this week off of nannying and I get so bored. What do I do with myself for 5 days with out my kiddos?? I like to be busy so these “lazy days” don’t happen often.

It was a nice, hot, sunny day today so I was able to go outside and enjoy the sun while being on my computer. Score! I like when I get to lie in the sun and get tan but after about one hour I am ready to go in. I don’t want to burn and it is always to hot. I hate sweating unless I am working out.

So I listened to music and played on my computer. UNTIL... My mother called and informed me that being her assistant I need to do everything she can’t, which today just happens to mean I get to water her flowers (she just started a new company, LWJ Solutions). I hate watering the flowers, why? Not sure exactly; however, I get so frustrated when the hose gets stuck and won’t let the water out. That is the kind of stuff that gets me mad.

So I watered ALL her flowers (she has so many) and then I decided I was ready to get out of the heat. I wanted ice cream because it is cold. But we didn’t have any. So I remembered I saw this recipe on pinterest many times and I wanted to try it out! Ok lets be real it is not really a recipe but you put Greek yogurt or regular yogurt into a bag and create “drops”. Then put in the freezer. So flippin’ easy, this is a new favorite! Picture below.

Then I decided I needed to go for a run because I am doing the color run in a couple of weeks. I work out everyday for 1 hour at least, but my running, yeah it sucks. So I ran 2.5 miles and then sat in the massage chair to be lazy again. Then planned a rollerblading ride with my friend, Katie. I just got home from the ride and we were both exhausted. The heat really killed us. I have already decided tomorrow is going to be more productive, how? A trip to the mall!

Graduation Party

My cousin and very good friend, Callie graduated from high school this year. So we of course celebrated Callie’s accomplishment with a big party at her house.

Callie and I grew up together because we are close in age. We have always loved hanging out. When we were little we would play Barbie’s for hours in my Barbie room. Then we grew into the computer game Sims. Now when we hang out we usually shop and get ice cream! Man, times have changed.

Callie graduated from White Bear and she will be going to school to pursue a career in dental hygiene just like our aunt Lynn. I am so happy for Callie and I know she will do great.

Callie's grad party was perfect. It was a mixture of green and pink decorations. With bars from all her aunts, a Keys Cake, and the fabulous Donatellis Mostaccioli! Yummy. (Big work out needed now!)

The party ended with a severe storm where everyone quickly helped take down the tent, and bring in the chairs and tables. Some people left before the big storm but others stayed. My family of course stayed and we had a great time! I have never seen my grandma having so much fun. I think she told me 6 times that I was “beautiful”. I think her Saturday morning was a little rougher than most other mornings. :)

Congrats Callie Marie! I love you lots.

At the end of the night I was exhausted and ready for bed…. I had to wake up at 7:30 the next morning for a work out with friends.
